Serene Bath Escape

After dedicating years to their growing family, it was time for this Burnaby couple to create a space specifically for them.

Starting with the with the 1989 era ensuite. This space was overrun with a large jacuzzi tub that was never used, a small awkward shower and a single sink vanity, with very inadequate storage. This dark and drab space was desperate for a complete overhaul.

Starting with a light, airy palette to visually expand the space and grounded by the warmth of rift-cut white oak, the design establishes a calm, spa-like atmosphere. The introduction of a double vanity and sleek recessed medicine cabinets provides the much-needed storage and functionality the original bathroom lacked. The shower was expanded to create a more generous, comfortable experience, while improved spatial planning enhances overall flow and usability.

At the heart of the space, a reimagined two-person soaker tub with heated backrests and air therapy massage features brings the clients’ vision to life—offering a true retreat within the home that balances everyday function with elevated comfort and relaxation.

The small main bathroom was soon to follow. With the kids grown they wanted the dated and unfunctional space to have a shower only and support the busy lives of 3 teenagers.
